Development in the finance sector accelerated. At year-end, the balance of local currency in deposit accounts with financial institutions in Xinyu stood at 22.26 billion yuan   RMB, an increase of 3.47 billion Yuan   RMB from the beginning of the year. The enterprise deposit in local currency (RMB) was 4.14 billion yuan   , an increase of RMB 1.06 billion   from the beginning of the year. Resident savings in rural and urban areas was 13.56 billion yuan  , an increase of 1.14 billion   from the beginning of the year . The balance of loans in local currency (RMB) was 15.38 billion yuan RMB, an increase of 3.01 billion Yuan  RMB from the beginning of the year. Of the total amount of loans in RMB, 9.41 billion yuan   were in short-term loans, an increase of 2.17 billion yuan   RMB from the beginning of the year; and 5.1 billion yuan RMB in medium and long term loans, an increase of 1.01 billion Yuan RMB from the beginning of the year. LDK Solar Co.,Ltd., the largest production base of solar silicon cells in the world, successfully listed on NYSE (New York Stock Exchange) on June 4, 2007, with its IPO financing 0.469 billion US dollars, becoming the first enterprise listing on NYSE. The securities sector grew dramatically. The 3 security firms in Xinyu realized a combined income of 265 million Yuan   RMB, up 5.5 fold. 

The insurance industry grew steadily. Total insurance amount was 497 million Yuan  RMB , up 12.1 % with premiums totaling 353 million Yuan   RMB. Of the total, 124 million Yuan   was for property insurance; 19 million Yuan   RMB for Health and accident insurance . Expenses for claims amounted to 159 million Yuan   RMB. Of this figure, 58 million Yuan  was for property claims and 9 million Yuan   for Health and accident insurance.
