Industry grew rapidly. In 2007, Xinyu realized 15.548 billion RMB in industrial added value, up 22.5%. The added value of the industrial sector accounted for55.9percent of Xinyu's GDP up 6.3%.
Total sales revenue and the added value of large state-owned industrial enterprises and large non state-owned industrial enterprises reached 52.795 billion RMB and 14.627 billion RMB for the year, an increase of 49.9 percent and 31.7 percent respectively over the previous year.
In 2007, the four leading industries of iron and steel, photovoltaic, new material and power provided an added value of 8.677 billion, up 35.4 percent, which is 63.8 percent of those provided by industries above designated size. Four pillar industries played an increasing role in stimulating economic growth of 20.2 percent.

Industrial enterprises above the designated size performed well. In 2007, total pre-tax profits increased by 224.1% to 3.748 billion RMB with the total tax and profit of 5.858 billion RMB, up 122.9%. The total industrial enterprise performance index was 200, up 56.53 percent over the previous year.
The industrial park is growing up in a rapid way. About 38.1 thousand workers were employed in 170 industrial parks over the whole city. The industrial park accomplished a sales revenue of RMB 17.45 billion Yuan , up 88.3%, a profit of RMB 1.528 billion Yuan , up 199.0%, a tax of RMB 1.741 billion Yuan , up 152.3%.
