The glamor of Xinyu springs from the long history and rich human atmosphere.
The excavated stone artifact of Paleolith Times shows the ancestors of Xinyu people began to cultivate painstakingly and multiply generation after generation. Shinian mountain Site with the reputation of Banpo of Southern Changjiang River reflects the over-6000-year farming culture. From Tang Dynasty to Qing Dynasty, This hot land has nurtured many famous figures including Luzhao, one of the famous scholars in Tang Dynasty(618-907A.D), Wang Qinruo, the first prime minister from Southern Yangtze River areas during Beisong Dynasty(960-1127 A.D), Yan Song, one of the prime ministers of Ming Dynasty (1480-1565), Fu Baoshi, one of the most famous painters highlighted by contemporary Chinese Paintings, and David Ho, the Time Magazine's Man of 1996, who is famous for his achievements in AIDS research. It was in this place that TIANGONG KAIWU, one of the most important scientific works in the world, was written by Song Yingxing during his stay in the city’s Fenyi County, who was an education official. It’s also the site of the famous Luofang Conference, which was held during the 2nd Chinese Democratic Revolutionary War period and Mr Mao Zedong, former chairman of CPC, wrote Investigation of Xingguo right here.
The legend of Seven Fairies Descending to the World adds to the mystery and nimbus of the city. 1600 years ago, Ganbao of Dongjin Dynasty wrote in his book a story named Seven Fairies Descending to the World, the first written records of the marriage between fairy and mortal. Pursuing the idea of overcoming and combination of heaven and human, Xinyu people is combining the modern idea of worshiping freedom, equality and competition to create new brilliance. Located 10 kilometers apart from southwest of Xinyu city, Fairy Lake Scenic Spot and Historic Site is the combination of natural scenery, historical site, customs and industrial landscape with a total area of 198 kilometers and a water area of 50 square kilometers. The lake adjoining gulf and densely covered islands attracts tourists from all parts of the world.

Historical Culture
Luofang Dagu mountian, the living tools of 200 thousand years ago unearthed from Shuixi Gongjia Mountain and the cultural relics of Shinian Mountain Site tells us the magnificent historical culture of 6000 years ago. Many archaeological finds including 90 sites from Paleolithic Age to Spring and Autumn Period and Warring States Period mirrors the advanced ancient civilization.

This land brings out many famous figures generation after generation. Luofang Conference and Investigation of Xingguo
Luofang Conference was hold by Mao Zedong in Chen Jianao, Luofang from October 25,1930 to October 30, 1930. Present at the meeting were Mao Zedong, Zhude, Peng Dehuai, Teng Daiyuan, Zhou Yili, Li Wenlin etc. A resolution about present political situation and the tasks of the party in Jiangxi was adopted On October 26. The operational policy of luring the enemy in deep laid the foundation for the victory of First, Second, Third and Fourth Counter - Campaign against “Encirclement and Suppression” and the construction of Central Soviet District.
During the conference, Mao Zedong finished Investigation of Xingguo, after a weeklong investigation meeting with 8 red army soldiers from Xingguo,

National key Scenic Spots and Historic Site.
Located in the suburb of southwest of Xinyu City, Fairy Lake is the only national key scenic spot and historic site with a total area of 198 square kilometer and a water area of 50 square kilometers. It is the combination of natural scenery, historical site, customs and industrial landscape with many beautiful legends and historical ruins including the story of descending of Mao Yinu, the grim love of Chen Duoshou and Zhu Duofu in XingShiHengyan of Feng Menglong, Verved Stone inscription on Zhongshan Canyon, Luzhao’s Reading Desk, Changshan Temple, deep Hongyang Cave, Wannian Bridge which went down in the first Directionary of Architecture of Ancient China, Heron Resort, Garden Resort, Personality Island, Snake Island, Daijia Village, Xianlai Island, Peach Island and Birds Island, Longwang Temple, Xiaogong Temple, Qianlu College, Fenyi Ancient site where Song Yingxing composed his technological work TianGongKaiWu. The lake and the hills add radiance and beauty to each other.
